#172632 Well, my eg has a problem. :x I was driving to my girlfriends house and hit a bump, when i hit the bump the fuel pump shut off and wouldnt turn back on. I relaced the pump and the main relay 3 times and still nothing. Finally i just spliced a 12 volt wire into the pump wire so i can at least drive the car. What could have caused it to shut off? Which wire goes from the ecu to the main relay/fuel pump to turn it on? and is there a ground for the main relay that is messed up? like in the ground "packs" in the fender? Any help is appreciated.

#172638 Check your fuses,

If you are getting it to run w/ 12v power to it, that means your grounds should be okay. You already swapped out what would most commonly go bad.

I would check fuses next. thats the next logical step IMO.

Yea i check em all. Including the ones i was told were main relay fuses under the dash. I think it has to do with my ecu harness. But i cant figure out which wire it would be

#172667 only thing i can say to do is use a voltage indicator and see if the old wire running to the pump has any power in it. if it doesnt pull the interior and trace the wire back to the fuse block and ecu looking for a pinched or seperated wire . if you can find something like that take cut out the bad section and replace it

#175394 its a long shot but i had similar problems when my ignition switch wasnt making proper contact, i did just wire 12v from my fuse box for a while but eventually the whole ignition started randomly dieing while driving after i took the circular switch apart and cleaned the contacts (watch for tiny springs!) i rewired the pump to the relay and havent had any problems since.
