- Tue Jun 08, 2010 5:48 pm #199240 Hey ppl this is going to sound like a mad question but maybe some1 will know , when you put the key in the ignition and hear the fuel pump prime sometimes it makes 1 click other times it makes 2 clicks, now im haveing some problem with vtec engaging now when i hear the 2 clicks i am guaranteed the car will vtec! now its a really weird 1 because i kno that the fuel pump will have nothing to do with the cars vtec engaging?! im at a loss hear guys...

- Tue Jun 08, 2010 5:57 pm #199247 First position you shouldn't hear anything. Second position you'll hear the fuel pump prime for 3 seconds. If you listen carefully you can hear the main relay click.

Your ignition switch has absolutely nothing to do with VTEC.

The ECU never makes any noise.
