Ok guys, I have posted a couple of times about my speedometer not working and all. I replaced my VSS and still not working. The funny thing is that sometimes it will start working and then it will stop or it will jump up and down in funny ways. I notice that it works mostly when it's raining for some reason.....
The problem is, everytime it comes to wires in my car I just can't handle with it! I was wondering who can fix this problem? Do I have to take it to the dealer? would they work on a swaped engine? should I take it to pep boys? lol

you need a new gauge. the speedo gauge is shot. the VSS rarely goes bad.

it will start by going in and out, then get stuck at places, then stop working at all. My speedo in my car is starting to go, because when it stops working, i tap it on the top and it will work. Its something to do with the gears that make it move. and yeah, it can work for months before it fully goes bad. Your best bet would be to get a speedo out of a different cluster and swap it in.

Now, can I replace the speedo head with one from any civic? I started looking around for some and I just want to make sure that the year doesnt make much of a difference. My car is 93 and I have found some for 96-99 online, do you think those will work?

96+ will not fit, you need a 92-95. You can get one with a built in tach if you want, the wiring is already there to plug it in.
Bad wiring can also cause the problems you describe.
Every once in a while after a hard right turn, my speedo will cut out for a min or 2. It bothers me but not enough to go digging around in my dash.
Speedos are very sensitive in our cars.
