Speedometer help!

I'm trying to get into my speedometer an idk what to do. The one thing i need out of the way is the tack. How do i remove it without busting it off?

are you trying to change the mileage on your speedo?

I wasn't planning on it. But if i could that would be great. I'm doing the swap from are stock gauge cluster to a ls cluster an i need to extend the reset stick. or whatever it is called.

If you pull that needle off you'll ruin the speedo. They're made so they can't be tampered with. There is a way to change the mileage but it's difficult and your numbers wont line up correctly until you roll the mileage around again.
I know this because I had the speedo go bad on my DA so I replaced it and matched the mileage on the new one. You're not supposed to do that but it worked fine after I drove it 10k miles LOL.
BTW the DMV keeps close track of your mileage through registration, smog checks, and even through some repair shops. When there is an inconsistency with the mileage, they mark your title similar to salvage. And there's no way to ever get the record cleared again.
