cooling fan wiring

so my radiator fan wired right up to the battery work just fine but when i wire it up from the switch and the thermo stat to the battery my relay just clicks and my fan doesnt come on so im wanting to wire it to something else so that it will stay on the whole time the car is running what can i wire it to?

Sounds like you may need to replace the switch. They wear out after a while.

id rather just do a easy cost free fix since i have plenty of wire and connectors

as a temp fix, you can run it to a constant.. BUT only do it as a temp fix. you'll burn your fan up pretty quick. then you'll have to replace your fan AND your switch next time.
do it right the first time, man. cutting corners will only hurt your cause.
