this harness came with a b16a2 conversion package.. it cant be the oem b16a2 harness as it dosent reach into my cabin.

It seems to plug into the b16 ok.. except 1 wire.

it came in two pieces.. i dont know if this is normal?.. or would indicate which harness it is?

if any one knows what this harness is.. it would help me out alot :thumb:

looks like the engine harness, and the little one probably goes to your fuse box, then is grounded on the shock tower, and also houses the negative terminal for the battery(altough it looks like it might be a positive terminal)...thats how mine came out of my car

well i couldnt be of any help there, i have really only delt with obd1 harnesses and cars...sorry, just did a quick search and in 5 min i found out, if im not mistaken that b16a2 was obd2...and i actually think they came out of 99 si civics probably other cars, but most notably that it was i found

and fyi and engine loom wont "reach into" the cabin, it connects to the fuse box and the engine, then to the ecu, our cars actually have 2 main harnesses, interior, and engine harness..and i think you need a jumper harness for the ob2 to obd1 for your interior harness if im not mistaken

The engine was from an ek4 so it is obd2a, the ek4 harnesses here reach into the cabin and plug into the ecu..
I have also found it has a similar 2 piece design as my original LSi harness leading me to believe it may be an obd1 harness?

hehe well if it says its an obd2 harness we have our answer, i think most are desinged at two part harnesses, and yes it should plug into ecu, i dont know if i worded that wrong, just woke up about 35 min ago lol, but as long as you have the correct ecu for the engine, and the correct obd for teh ecu and motor, you shouldnt have an issue, you might need a jumper harness for some parts but i would suggest firuring out what plugs in and works properly and what doesnt, then do some research to figure out the soultions and hopefully it goes well..i have heard its kind of a pain in the butt to put a obd2 motor into an obd1 car buts its doable with some modifications and know how, im sure alot of people on here would know what all that entails so just keep pluggin away and keep asking questions when in doubt...good luck buddy!

^ what he said. you'll need an OBD1 harness (ESI or SIR will work)

and convert your motor to obd1, ( fuel injectors ecu, and Distributor, and driver side mount IIRC)

our harness only goes to the shock tower, you'll need to wire up the vtec from the ecu to the shock tower and i think something else ? and if your car was a non ESI (sohc vtec, DX and SIR) i think you'll also need to wire up for 4wire o2 sensor? i think im not sure on that its been awhile,

ok guys thanks this is my setup..
OBD1 P28 chipped> Obd1 92-95 SIR harness> OBD1 92-95 vti engine harness> OBD2 dizzy,alt, injector plugs> OBD2 engine

will this setup work?

will the Vti engine harness work ok instead of esi, sir??

will i still need to wire in vtec? and o2 sensor?

is the vti the best harness to get for my setup.. as in does it involve less wiring? would the sir engine harness be my best bet as i have the sir interior harness?...

if the VTI harness came from a 92-95 vtec car and yes should be fine. you can use the OBD2 injectors & clips, and dizzy you'll just need to get a jumper harness ( www.rywire.com ) has what you need. and also yes you will have to if your car isnt a 92 car. i dont know if those cars are like our US cars where the 92 was already prewired. so its possible yes. but if your car already came vtec then no.

below is a pin out on what you need to look at when doing it. hopefully it helps.

Wouldn't vtec be wired into both harnesses all ready? As they are both from vtec models?

all you would really need to do as far as wiring up vtec is from the ECU to the shock tower.

the VTi,ESi, Sir would already be wired up for vtec.

Sweet so no need to wire vtec as im plugging a sir into vti harness..just the o2 sensor?
