speedometer problem...

My speed sometimes, bounces and then turns from km/h to miles/h. i turn the car off and start it back and it stops... it happens once every three starts the gauges marks as if its miles again and when i stop at a light, it sets back to normal. any ideas would be apreciated. 94 hatch d15b7.

mine bounces. not sure what u mean by the kmh to mph thing but mine does it because o loose connection on my speed sensor. its the middle pin that makes mine bounce

Check your wiring for loose connections, clear the dirt on the vss pins, if to no avail, check your VSS isn't going bad. all the best
