#79474 ok well ive heard a couple people say that there is a way to take the ecu harness out now this would be lovely if i knew how to do it but i have done some research and no one has really said how.

Now I took a gander at a civic in the junk yard and I see that the wires go right through to the engine bay. now im just wondering but dosent that mean its connected and intertwined with the interior harness itself that goes from headlight to headlight and through the fire wall across.....

Is there Any one who can help me figure this out I keep getting vtec check engien light no matter what i do so i want to just go ahead and swap that harness if its possible to just do that? (the ecu harness) or would i have to do the who harness itself.

#79487 Most of the ECU harness in on the inside of the firewall. it's a PITA to swap, plan on taking out your dash, heatercore, heater motor etc to get to it. There's only 2 wires from your ECU to the head that control vtec. If anything, just run 2 fresh wires through your firewall if you suspect you have a short somewhere in your old wires. also check the ground wire on the oil pressure switch. :thumb: There's 3 wires total that control vtec, not worth replacing an entire harness for.

but thank you very much for answering that question just made me wonder if i wasnt thinking correctly and i was missing stuff....
