Another broken LCA bolt... and worse

I've had the LCA shock bolts break on me before, but last night the bolt that attaches the end of the LCA to the frame snapped. (the one to the far right in the pic)

Image

The kick in the balls is that the nut on the other side that the bolt threads into (the one that is welded to the subframe) snapped off too :x

There's not enough room to get in there to re-weld it with a MIG since that area is recessed and the tip of the MIG is way too big. The nut is fine, it was just weak/corroded spot welds that gave out.

I'm wondering if I can use the nut, along with a lock washer when I install the newbolt. Think that will be OK?

they are special bolts with a tapered end on them and no threads in the middle. But that's a good idea. Maybe I'll take one to the store and see if I can find one similar. In the time crunch I'm in I might just have to use them though. Hoping to have the car done in 9 days :o Honda must know that those bolts break on almost every civic

When I broke my screws honda was charging $16.50 for those bolts. I was like fu*k that so I got some off a kid that had 3 of them laying around. And I got another 3 off the junk yard for like $3.50 lol

My hatch is not at my place, it is in Medina. I'm taking tomorrow off work to spend all day on it. If you're going to be near Medina and you want to see it, let me know!

edit - just got back from the dealership, and they ordered the wrong bolts [smilie=BangHead.gif] Sometimes I feel like there's someone who doesn't want me to get this thing done in time
Good thing there's plenty of other misc stuff in the meantime to do...
