Blasting and powder coating of calipers

Hi

I am about to switch from 242mm discs to 262mm ones. So while I have the calipers not mounted and easy to move around, I would like to make them shiny.

What I want is to flatten them /so they are not rough on the surface/ and then paint them using powder coating.

My questions to you are:

1.Is it possible that the blasting may damage the calipers and weaken them. This is my life hanging in the balance afterall.
2.Is it safe to powder coat them?
3. Any other problems I may encounter?

Thanks guys!

they just have to be completely taken apart for powder coating. you'll need to get them rebuilt with all new seals and what not afterwards

Oh, I haven't thought about that....

I gotta check the prices on a possible rebuild.

ya, they have to be disassembled because the powder coating process is so hot

i know how you feel though... my rear calipers are just a couple months old and are completely covered with rust. :x
