Repair chipped wheel

Basically, the last person who had my wheels kurbed the crap out of one of them. Only one, managed to avoid the rest...

Since it's a polished lip though I don't know how to go about fixing it so I can retain the look? I want to pull all the wheels off at some point soon and just clean them up as best I can and polish them up. Already sprayed the innards (wasn't great mind) but yeah...

Any tips?

If it is not too deep, you can fix it by wet sanding. See the "how to polish your wheels thread. You'll just need to do some extra initial sanding with the low grit paper to get thru all the scratches.

No it has chunks missing lol

I'd rather not fork out for a full refurb, imo they aren't worth it when I only paid £70 for em in the first place with tyres...

Might just save some pennies for some bronze CE-28Ns mebbe

pic might help to understand what I mean:

oh yeah, that's a little much to wetsand...

you could try a metal filler, but then it wouldn't match the finish so you might want to repaint the lips to something other than polished metal.

They wouldn't look as awesome then :(

Yeah reckon I'll just leave them and maybe look for something else. I like em, but they're heavy heavy wheels and I wants something lighter

My oldschool Racing Sparcos are starting to do the same, from the previous owner, though not quite THAT bad!

Just give 'em a good paintjob/shine job and unless you are 1 foot away you won't even be able to notice.

Like you said, they are decent wheels until you can afford something GREAT! :thumb:

I'll enlighten you when:

a) I can be bothered to find some accurate scales
b) I have money for replacements since you want them for free :P
