It will be made out of PVC pipe and plastic to cover it up. I will be taping the sides so it is air tight, but it will be playing on grass so I'm sort of afraid that i may get grass in the paint?

I may try to put plastic down on the ground as well and tape it up, and then get two wide boards to lay down so I can get the car in it without tearing the plastic and allowing dirt in.

But the main question I have is, how will I prevent the car from getting wet and causing problems from rain/dew in the morning? I'll be painting the whole car, trim and all, so the doors will be off since I have to get all the way around it with the new color. I'm not too worried about the primer, it will be sanded anyways, but I'll need a day myself to sand/perfect everything after I primer it, and by the next morning it seems like it'll have a lot of dew built up in the plastic structure...but I'm hoping I'm wrong?

I guess I could just wait for the final masking for the morning when I will be painting the color, so I'll have a few hours to see how it is drying while I mask it up.

Any ideas? I'm actually going outside to find the best place to put the booth and going to put part of it together now.

for the dew, once the sun comes up it should evaporate quickly. You'll need a filter/fan system though to move the air through so you don't have a greenhouse effect. Or can you temporarly remove the roof of the booth to allow the moisture to escape?

I was going to get a cheap box fan and tape a furnace filter to the side that will be sucking air and throwing it out of the booth, and a furnace filter on the other side of the booth to let air come in.

Oh, and I plan on trying to get some pictures, and hopefully video, of me painting this. That way I can make a nice article on how to build a proper booth to paint in, and how to prepare/paint. I just graduated last year for autobody repair, I was selected to represent our college in a NC state tournament as well, and plan on moving to Pittsburgh in 1-2 months I'm hoping and I had to make sure that the house I'm buying had a garage so I had a place to make a good paint booth to make some extra money.

you need 2 fans.. 1 fan that is on the front blowing inwards on low, so it dosent pick up to much dirt, and a second at the back to blow the air out.. also when spraying auto paint, you have to get this.. do not try without... you need an inline filter fo the compressor. it colects the mosture from the hose and tank. that way your not spraying water and paint causeing it to run.. also once the car has been cleared, after about an hour or 2 you can pull it out.. just you a medium to as semi fast hardner/actavator for the clear. dont use slow , other wise it will take to long to fully harden... and once the car has sat and hardend, it wont even mater about the mosture in the am.. as long as you have the car painted by like 3pm.. then it will have plenty of time to harden...

But yeah you should be fine with just plastic up an I would not worry about dew in the morning, cant wait for pics!
