Well, i had told you all that "I couldn't wait" so i was sending my car to a boby shop... blah blah .. So after thinking long and hard I decided to not go with the body shop .. and do it myself. Well, frankly, the guy couldn't care less about my car or how it turns out. i would like to see it looking good! So thursday me and my girlfriend decided to go ahead and start the repair haha

Here are some pics of our handywork:

Okay last week i slapped some bondo on the right side of the car and kinda roughly started to shape it out! But that was short lived. I want to spend some good quality time on the finish after both sides are done! And i have a lot of work to do on the driver side! :x Around the filler pipe was nasty! At least the rust ate away all the hard to reach areas..... I am taking 6 days off in the next couple weeks to try to get it finished up! :D Also going to order those springtech coilovers! i found out they are a canadian company and they are fairly good quality for the price! So "Canada represent!"

Any ways haha here are some pictures of my progress so far:

Some rough spots but not too bad.. i never did well in art class lol .. maybe playing with clay could have helped my bondo skills!
Image

I think i messed up the cut.. but i will figure something out! It fits alright but not perfect
Image

This is under the gas cap! Honda should have come up with a better drain hole haha oh well!
Image

Image

This was the easy part! Took only an hour or 2 to do..
Image

This is the hard part i seem to be pondering over! (I have my trusty helper lol. I wouldn't set up the tripod to get my in the picture... :eh: lol)
Image

Sleep deprovation at its best!

There is still a lonnnng way to go to get that other side buttoned up but its getting there! I will hopefully get the majority of it done this coming week.. and weather permitting maybe even the trusty rattlecan paint job lol..

This has to be my favorite, a girl with some powertools working on an EG!! :thumb:

But seriously, I think you're doing a great job! And like EG-nath said, Take your time to prep!!! It'll show in the end...

Yeah haha she's great! :P Didn't think she'd want to get greasy so i never asked her to help.. then she asked "Why do you never want me to help" lol

I want to do a good job with the prep definately.. but i suck with bondo.. i also noticed on one of the seams the fill started to crack... thats not a good sign.. i don't know what made it do that.. :?

I also have to prime the bumper cause it cam raw .. and i heard it is hard to get some primer to stick to plastic? That true? I also don't have a garage i can paint it in.. but i guess i can always wetsand out the little critters that get in the paint out doors. ... . :(

I have the next three days to work on it.. so hopefully i can get it close to paint! :D Then i have to take it to get it safety inspected.. and i don't know if it will pass.. i touched one of the brake lines and it started leaking .. so i need one of those! But they are cheap...

Anyone know off hand what fittings are on the brake lines from the flex hose to the brake drum?

On the bondo part, I don't know if you used a multiple component bondo, but if you did, maybe you put in too much hardener?

And as for the primer, just get a special plastics primer and you should be fine...

Good luck! :thumb:

Yeah i used a component bondo.. "gold" sands much eaiser than regular bondo! And mixed alot eaiser.. The first time i used to little hardner and took a long time to set lol second time i got the hang of it proportion wise.. i just can't seem to get the shape right.. i think i sand off too much then have to reapply it..

I also picked up some plastic primer made my duplicolor.. see how well that works and i will get the new bumper painted :D :thumb:
