- Mon Apr 12, 2010 5:31 pm #187238 Actually, ive been wanting for a while to make something from my car from my senior engineering class, a custom shift nob would be perfect, what type of metal do you figure would be good for this? aluminum? and any ideas on weight, dimensions? etc? design perhaps? any cool ideas on what i can engrave on it (we also have a laser and plasma cutter, with engraver.)

the heavier the material the better, you shoot for a higher gram weight for a shift knob, id look into trying to make it like an itr knob, the have a good feel to them...
