#29544 Has anyone ever experimented with aerodynamics on the underside of their civic?

What got me thinking is the VX rear diffuser:

And then I've seen aftermarket "race" versions:

Varis Rear diffuser

Here's something not so extreme as the ones above, on an STi:

I'd love to find something like this one, reasonably priced, for my EG. I don't need CF, aluminum or fiberglass will do for me.

These are all alternatives for drilling the big holes in the rear bumper. The rear bumper acts as a parachute and catches are, creating drag.

#29545 I'd just go to the dealership and see if they can get the VX ones, i'm actually thinking on that now

#29546 They are cheap, like $35 cost if you know someone that works at a dealership, plus a few $ for mounting parts. But they only cover the driver side, the muffler side is still wide open. The OEM mufflers are big barrels, but most of us have smaller aftermarket mufflers. So I think that a full one going all the way accross would be good.

Maybe I'll just stick with the OEM one and then try fabbing something for the rest

Yeah i get stuff at employee discount, cause my dad works at our dealership and they put it in his name, and mounting stuff if free for me cause i go to my stepfathers shop, God i love connections

I wonder if there is a RHD one for EG's... wait never mind it still has the same exhaust routing lol

That is a nice piece!
See I don't know why I couldn't make something like that 8)
I would like to have something like that up front and something similar on the rear, and see what a difference it makes.

I may add this to my list of winter projects!

#29615 that front one looks like it might not fit cars with bigger piping though

I would love to have one for the rear. I wonder if something can be made.

#29616 I think it would be as easy as creating a cardboard template and then tracing it onto a piece of thin stainless. Then attaching it with a few bucks worth of hardware from home depot.
