Antenna removal

hi everyone i am getting my hatch sprayed and i am removing moldings and windows to make it easier for the spray painter does anybody know how to remove the antenna from the roof?
i have tried undoing both screws and pulling it a little bit but i do not want to break anything so help would be appreciated thanks.

the antenna cable goes down through the a pillar then to the radio. just cut it off at the top unless u wanna keep it. then u have to pull it through but its taped to all the wires rinning through that pillar. kind of a bitch.

I took the black plastic cover off and was able to push the antenna down into the hole a little bit for painting. Then pulled it out after paint and it was good to go

ive replaced my antenna...its not that hard to take out, its putting it back in thats a bitch. I would suggest doing what Teal said. Much easier.

yeaa..i bought my car and the antenna was broken off so i picked one up at the junkyard but i have no clue as to where to start...how do you actually do it?
