Can you buy factory key blanks :O

I bought a car a few months back and it has this big ugly clumpsy looking key.I was wondering if you can buy the actual honda key blanks and go from there.

I got those but I couldn't find a place to cut them because they're steel.

If you go to the dealer, they are about $7-8 each and they will cut them for you according to the VIN. You will have to provide state issued license and title/registration with your name on it to verify ownership.
If they can't cut it for you (my dealer is hit and miss with their "machine") they will give you the cut code and recommend a certain locksmith in the area to cut the keys.

jeezzz.I figure i could bring it to my local canadian tire/home hardware or napa and get it cut.I was actually debating on buying the blank off of egay

I went to my local dealer and the guy told me
That usually older civics ignitions become warn out along with the key
So if you where to get one cut to spec it might not work as well as your old key
He did give me a blank but its not an original eg blank
