im about to do a right hand drive conversion but i dont know whats better....would you guys rather cut the car just above the mirror and weld everywhere you cut or cut out the firewall???

Firewall definately if you cut the mirror area 1 your losing strength in the whole car itself and creating a weakspot so to speak and 2 getting the alignment down is darn near impossible....

Good luck with left turns, drive through windows, and toll booths. And good luck getting the car registered (passing safety inspection). But hey, you're more Japanese now. Cool.

I concur. This is a pretty large project to undertake. Unless you have more than novice welding and bodywork skills, mechanical and wiring fabrication skills, and EVERY part you will need (My favorite one is the gas door release cable which no one every remembers), this project can end up leaving you with a car that is good for nothing but parts.

And if it's not done up to par it won't pass inspection and/or won't be safe to drive.

If you can do it please post pics. I love to see projects like this. But if you're weary about it. I say save yourself the trouble.

i got most of it handled already i got a friend whose a main tech at a car collision center who welds awesome...he said he would do it, and the actuall CAR,its already registered.AND I HAVE THE GAS RELASE CABLE to for rhd ..but thanks for worrying oh and i will post pictures as soon as i can

If you want any RHD parts just gimme a shout and I'm sure I have them floating about inc Black vti dashs inner door cards and everything inbetween.
