94 civic bogging down

i just got my gf any 94 civic and when u going down the road it act like it about to run out of gas and it bogs down alot they it stop and sometime it back fires and no check lights on at all it came on ones and when back off what should i try

Have you checked the timing yet or done an ignition tune-up (cap rotor, plugs, wires?)
When was the fuel filter replaced?

Not check the timing and the fuel filter brand new and I not mess with ignition yet I tryed the fu any fuel injectors and still dose it and it is runing lean but can't find out what make it bogg down
