Hi everyone. I'm Brandon. I just got a 93 vx a few weeks ago. I have never owned a honda before. In the past I have had a 93 240sx with coilovers and 1.8 turbo. Still own a 03 Focus SVT (Selling it) and a few other cars. Anyways, I have never gotten in to the honda thing because there are so many ricers with bad taste around here. But I really have enjoyed the car so far. It gets great gas mileage and has a great feel.

First things first though, I need to do a bit of restoration. I ordered some turn signals off of ebay because one of mine is broken. Now I am looking for manual mirrors (my drivers side one is loose and wiggles) and one of my hatch's shocks is missing. Oh yes and a gauge cluster with a tach!!

Oh yes about my car. I checked the VIN and it says CX, but the motor is the d15z1 or whatnot from the vx and the tailgate has a vx sticker on it. It also has the cx wheels. I do know that the motor was replaced by the previous owner. Also, the valve cover doesn't say VTEC-E on it like I thought they were supposed to. Any ideas? So this is my fraken-civic. I will post pictures in the "your ride" section in a day or two when I have time.

After I get the car freshened up it will be time for suspension upgrades. That and some brakes. I am not so much a power hungry person, but I have to have a great handling car. Man, that was a long post.

Brandon :?

welcome to the site! If you want a good handling car over more than a powerful one, then you made the right choice. These cars can be built to handle like a gokart! before you order a new mirror, check where it mounts to the door. on the inside of the door there are 3 bolts, 10mm I believe. Check to make sure they are all tight before you buy a new mirror :thumb:

not sure why someone would go through the trouble of putting a cx motor in your vx... it is a step down for sure though. Maybe they needed a cheap replacement :?

It's a VX motor into a CX. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the welcome. GoKart handling sounds great to me. Just as long as I can keep up with my miata buddy!

well that's not so bad then... plus the CX is the lightest of the civic hatches and that will come in handy when you get into the twisties :D

Oh yeah, lightweight is the best. That's why I like the EG. It also has a/c which adds a bit of weight, but I don't mind. It gets hot in the summer.

So I fixed the mirror, mostly. I took it apart and found out one of the C-rings was off and loose. It took forever it seems like to take it apart and put it back together. The only other problem was that the inside adjuster knob is broken at where it connects. Not that big of a deal, I can roll the window down and adjust. Also fixed the gas latch, it was not locking. I washed it too. Still no pictures but soon enough.
