what's up dudes,

how should I got about getting my hands on a decent engine to swap with my 8v? Should I be looking at junkyards? On craigslist? Or should I be looking to swap a new engine? How much would this cost if done right?

thanks,

Which engine exactly? Doing it yourself or having a shop do it? These will change how much it will cost to do a swap.

You can't get a real answer, if you don't provide the detail. What are you wanting to swap the motor for? Are you wanting to stay single cam or dual?

Getting a "Swap" from Craigslist is always a gamble.
Never bought an engine or trans there that was in decent condition.

If you know the person you are buying the part from and trust them you have a chance of getting something the is ok.

At least in a junkyard you have the option to take a bad part back and exchange it. I like getting parts that are already in a car, you can drive the car and get an idea if the part even works first.

Good luck on your "swap" hunt.
