Car won't stay warm ? Thermostat maybe ? Help

it won't stay warmed up the temp gauge stays dropped when driving around only comes up to normal when I'm idling . Goes back down when I start driving so I'm gonna take the thermostat housing off and well...idk just gonna do that.

New thermostat never hurts since they're cheap and easy, sounds like it might be stuck open.

there might not be one in there at all.
when its at idle and the tempature gauge is up are both radiator hoses warm?

yeah the top rad. hose hot so is bottom one.. most likely thermostat gonna get one this weekend. anyone have a link to how to change one? thanks

Just unbolt the housing, take out the old & install the new. Be sure the new one has the rubber gasket. (some cheap ones don't)
