#81021 How should I go about this??

Cuz daaaaang it's dirty under there!! I've been told I can just pressure wash it, but then I was told there was things I couldn't get wet... well EVERYTHING is stock so does it matter??

I'll give you some insight as to how the car was treated, my d16z6 takes NGK V-power spark plugs right, so they've got a notch at the top of the electrode or whatever, well when I changed them after I bought the car they were SO OLD they were straight black, half the electrode was just plain gone, and they were gapped out to .88!!

I'm amazed I made it home!

Seeing as how the clutch broke half the way home, yes that's right, a SPRING came out my dang clutch when I was getting on the freeway!!!

YIKES, thank god I love my car, most people would have given up lol! :o

#81033 Well, I have the same problem as you but I still haven't cleaned my engine bay. They (From different people) say that you have to cover the: dizzy, intake, battery, alternator. Then spray away.

Don't quote me on that because those came from different people that did their own wash.

#81106 I have pressure washed my engine bay about 5 times now and you can get everything wet just don't be holding the sprayer over the distributor or alternator..It can stand to get water on it just not a ton..I know most people say not to get water on the intake filter but I've washed mine..you just gotta let everything have a chance to dry before you start the car. I've done mine and had no problems pressure washing it. I spray degreaser all over and pressure wash it and it looks cleaner..but I also have this crap on there that wont come off...I've actually gotta repaint my engine bay for it to look any better. hope this helps..get busy!! :D

#81140 I used an aerosol degreaser to get rid of most of the crud, which wasn't much. Yay desert! Then i just rattle canned it to cover anything up :thumb:

#81146 If you move quickly and don't soak everything you'll be fine, just like JDM_Katie said. But if you want to be safe you should cover the valve cover, alternator, distributor, and if you have an open element air filter, then cover that. Blast away at the battery all you want. Especially the terminals.

I've heard that Simple Green works pretty good.
