3 steps forward, one step back(56k stay away)

Well the whole month of may my car had been working like shit, barely running, smoking, stalling at red lights all the time, and burning oil. so i decided it was time to solve the "problems".

so june 3rd i parked the car and now i'm driving these...

did the whole tear everything attached to the car off...in that process i found a few leaks, that will be fixed later in the summer.

and my turbo was only bolted on with three bolts...one must have fell out somewhere along the way.

ok now that thats out, i will be replacing it with a JDM DOHC ZC.

This ZC has quite a history haha, i bought it before i had my SI for $1100 with tranny and everything, and was going to swap it into my CX, but the si came along then boost so i sold the ZC to a friend for $800.

6 months later i bought it back for 400, with a new timing belt and HG, i just got done reassembling it last night. and this motor has not seen a engine bay since it arrived in Canada off the boat. about a year and a half ago now.

let me know how you like the zc. ive been thinking about doing a zc swap for a long time but dont know anyone who has done it

it takes precision to drop the motor through the bottom and pull it out on the jack! :thumb:

So are you going to be putting the turbo on the ZC?

ya i will man...but i dont expect anything fancy out of the ZC, i will be building the Z6 for boost throughout the summer and winter.

haha fucking right it does man...so far you and i are the only 2 i have seen do it this way, and i have done it twice..muhahaha

as for boost no, NA, Boostin' the Z6 once built.

SOHC beating a b18c...sounds good to me. :D

ok i know the z6 produces "125hp" stock and the dohc zc produces "130 hp" stock right? for differences i know that the z6 has vtec, is a sohc, has higher compression, smaller intake mani, while the dohc zc has no vtec, is dohc, lower compression and bigger intake anything else that im missing or incorrect on??

but yeah show us more pics!!

Why not boost the ZC while its in the bay. might as well. lower compression.....more boost!

to be honest i dont really knwo all that much about the zc.
