SOME SMOKEY HELP?

for about a month my car has been smoking on the ocasions it is started and then for a few days it was mint no smoke and now it is back to smoking any ideas?
been told could be valve seals

valve stem seals are a good start... is the smoke blue or black...? blue is oil smoke, black is fuel smoke, and a white smoke is antifreeze... how many miles dose your engine have???

280 000+ its a white smoke it could be blue i guess but more white is what i see

may just be condinsation in the exaust. water in the muffler. kinda weird its does it off n on...
