it's supposed to clear out the carbon & blowby inside your motor.

They say that on some high mileage motors, it could lead to less compression since a lot of carbon can build up on the piston face and combustion chamber over time, which will slightly raise compression (just a tad)

I've used it a couple of times now and it works, you have to follow the directions exactly like it's stated and you'll notice imediatly the diference. My lil bro have a '97 Mazda Protege with 285,000 miles and was park for about 9 months without starting. We used it on the vaccum line and on the crankcase and it just came to life. It smoke so much that the neighbors call the cops . On the hatchie I've used it as a fuel injector cleaner and it works better than other cleaners I've used in the past. If you want to do it remmember to do it on an open space or you might have problems .
If you're going to use it:
-3-5oz. on the brake booster line - Pour the SF on a 7oz. container and put the vacum side brake booster hose inside the container and let it slowly suck up the SF. if it sucks to much it'll turnoff don't allow it by removing the container. Let it run until it stops smoking. drive it for a couple of miles and the most important thing that people often forget CHANGE THE OIL!!
-they recommend to use 1-2oz. per gallon on the fuel tank, I always use 7oz. with a full fuel tank
-and on the tb I spay it with a clean degreaser bottle set to spray mist (don't buy the other seafoam stuff for tbs it's the same)

i would do the same... but if a cop pulls you over here in cali, when he see's the mofied exhaust, he has the right to further investigate.. then he pops your hood to see a colorful b16 in a 95 dx lol. then its all over ahha

I think there's a how to already somewhere I'll see if I can find it. If you decide to do it have fun smoking everybody. Just remmember to pour the SF on a separate container when you do the vaccum line, if you do it directly from the bottle dirt can get in and get suck up on to your engine Don't change your oil imediatly, drive a couple of miles that way all of the contaminants that you take from your engine don't get to your new oil.

Don't rev your car while your doing it like the youtube dude, let it take it at its own pace, if the car is stalling just remove the liquid and let it rev up on its own, if you happen to stall it it'll be hard to turn over again, just kep trying and trying until it does.

Sorry to revive this old thread but...Hey, where's our DIY asshole! lol.

I want to do this, and remembered EJ1 posting it a long time ago

If your engine doesn't NEED it, it's not going to hurt it I assume, correct? With the '95, the engine is very dirty and even dusty, it looks like it wasn't used very much for a period of time, especially cleaned and taken care of, so I figure doing this will only improve combustion and compression and clean out the cylinders if anything.

Quick question though, what is the BEST location to siphon it into your engine? Someone said a vacuum line, and someone said something about their injectors? Can anyone provide more information? I'm gonna go hunting online as well and pick up a can and see what it says, thanks in advance guys.

A lot of people get positive results, a few people had negative.

I'm going to try to do a compression test before and after the sea foam, and I will definitely add it to the brake booster, gas tank and crank case.

If anyone has ANY more information or input though, please share!

AHH lol sorry man, Never got around to it.. Apperntly the smurf sploonged all over my engine bay, and i was busy for a while
