Hello guys!

I did something stupid today! I was in hurry in the morning but i had to fill in some oil.

Then i forgot to put the oil cap back on...

I've driven maybe 30km in the whole day! There still is enough oil in the oilpan.

Do I have to expect some damage to the engine??

Can you tell a differance than when you first started driving? any weird noises?

Unless a marble sized piece of metal fell in or something crawled in, i doubt youll notice any difference. A while back my mom got her oil changed and the assholes didnt put the oil cap on and she never checks it so she had hers off for about 2 weeks with no problems. not good but under certain circumstances it shouldnt be that bad

I drove 50 miles with the oil cap off.... Oil was everywhere in my engine bay.. .and i just cleaned it.... The cap got lodged in one of my motor mounts so I just put it back on.. topped it off with oil... and everything was fine

The engine sound is the same it was before and it runs normal! So i guess nothing happened!

But the cap is lost! I have to buy a new one! But better than buying a new engine!

it will be alright, as long as the oil didn't get too low.
