not all D Series headers are the same, a Y8 Header Will not fit Z6 engine and vise versa, now a ceramic header dissipates heat a little better but is prone to cracking (I've seen quite a few of these) and the Stainless Steel is well aside from providing a Bling factor, if it's the right size any who it will help, but those are the main differences.

The difference between the different D series headers is OBD2 D series have an extra o2 bung. Also OBD1 d-series have to allow the dipstick in the front between #2 and #3 runners. Most aftermarket D series headers are designed for this though.
All d-series 92-00 headers will bolt up to the block of any of those years.

Thanks for the clarification teal, the reason I posted that was out of personal experience, I have a set of Y8 headers and they would not fit on my Z6 for my life!!
