hey all im new to the world of eg civic and honda's in general but last nite when i was on my way home i accelerated and my car died.. not to an extent where it cut out but it was chucking like mad and had no power but on high revs it smoothed itself out.. and it idled ok..
i got it a good bit home and at a cross roads it died.. i waited a few mins and then started it up again and it was grand.. but then when i reved it it started spittin and jumpin again..
i reved it hard in first gear and then changed to second gear and tehn it was ok?
im stumped for a solution to theis problem..
im thinkin its a fuel filter? any ideas?
any help is greatly appreciated as i need this car for gettin me to work and around.. unless i take the motorbike but that has no tax lol

It could be the main relay, something in the distributor(cap/rotor/igniter), maybe spark plug wires, or the ignition timing could possibly be off.
Just throwing some things out there.

it may also have something to do with the TPS or IACV

if all geuges drop then it's not the igniter unit or coil. if the igniter unit or coil will be damaged than the gauges would not drop. check your key mechanism. that power los in IG1 position might be caused by flying key in the mechanism. try to lubricate it and check all connections to it. or if you have an immo - go to the specialist for diagnosis. the immo would cause this problem too.
