- Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:40 pm #204556 alright im deployed rightnow and wanna get a hatch or a del sol. i wanna get a b16 and boost it so i was thinkin of going with a motor swap with the hatch but that would cost some money. if i get a 96 del sol si it already comes stock with b16 so i wouldnt have to swap but im not sure i would like boost in the del sol. money is kind of an issue but ill have the money to do either one when i get home. really i just need someone to help me get my head striaght cause i just cant decide

- Wed Jul 14, 2010 3:41 pm #204571 Try to get deployed to Japan or Europe so you can get some cool shit none of the rest of us can get. I hear stories where military guys are able to bring their cars back with them. That's worth joining the military right there!

I think the B16 is an excellent NA motor. If you're going to boost, get an LS. It has more displacement and it's meant for low to medium revs which is better for turbo. The B16 revs up so high that the valves open and close too fast to build boost. And there's tons of overlap.

Use the money you save on an LS to get a GSR trans, a turbo application cam, and / or some serious engine management. You end up with something much more balanced and developed than your typical mismatched engine build.
