#233639 I was bored looking up Ferios w/ AWD and I saw this link to one for sale. He says it's AWD and has pics to prove it, but I was confused by the fact that the engine wasn't longitudinally
mounted? How could it be AWD and be perpendicular to the car's centerline?

Here's the link:

#233644 Not entirely sure how the gearing works but it's the same as an Evo they have transfers mounted engines and are 4WD

Honda also used this similar drive train on the wagons

I did some searching and couldn't find anything :?

I understand the way normal AWD works: transfer case on driveshaft turns front differential (essentially). but if the engine wasn't pointing towards the back differential how would power get there?

Ahh, FWD isn't that bad. Just think of it this way, and you can quote me.
"You think FWD is so bad? Have you ever tried pushing a rope?" :D

Anyways :) , I wonder how common these are compared to the mythical AWD Integra.

#233752 Correction, It was the Integra ZXi but it's not AWD is we know it, more like rear wheel assist and they were apparently only available in Japan for a limited number of years, it was also a SOHC and were reported as being slow as hell. :)
I know I remember seeing pics of one in a forum a while back, there were pics of the undercarriage(drive line present) as well, but I'll be damned if I can remember were I saw it. :?

As how the Real Time AWD works. ITs a very low percentage going to the back wheels and tends to really only work decent when the car notices it needs it. Plus its not to strong which is why its rare they are turboed. legit as hell though.
