rear-view mirror removal

which part are you exactly having trouble with? the mirror it self clips onto a mount that is held to the windshield. gently life the mirror off the mount and use adhesive remover or a hair dryer to remove the mount.

- Thu Dec 22, 2011 5:28 am #286495 i have tried to lift the mirror off of the mount, but it doesnt want to come off and i dont want to break my window trying to remove it. i wasnt sure if it had a clip or something that you couldnt see.

- Thu Dec 22, 2011 7:16 am #286509 Some typs have like a set screw or clip of some sort, just look around it. Hope someone didn't glue the part that slide into the mount on the windshield :thumbdown:

- Thu Dec 22, 2011 8:05 am #286517 Yea mine doesnt have a clip but my windshield has been replaced. If you do use any tools check for a screw or clip. If not then gently use a rubber mallot. But why are you even removing it?
