Civic EG

So I bought a new ignition from O'Reillys and it doesn't look like the old one. You can see where the ends are different. I am having trouble getting it in to the hole where it goes. Any thoughts?

P.s. It goes almost all the way into the hole, but it doesn't click in, and once you it in, the key no longer can turn, I had to drill the old lock out, but I don't think I damaged anything.

I had to do this in my hatch. There is a little pin you have to haven pushed in the when you try n put the new tumbler in the housing has to be turned just right. I think it was the acc. Position. Hope that helps

What about the different lock designs? DO you think that is causing my problems?
