Well it is a hatch back, no side trim, most of the time no radio or rear wiper. Crank windows, no power steering etc. It should have a d15 in it. There is not much else to it. Pretty basic plan car.

The CX is the economy car. Comes with a d15b8 (worst motor ever), manual options, no side molding, and SUPER light.

Yep 70 hp and the longest geared manual tranny of any d series. Good mpg but very slow. Don't waste time modding that motor.

The Cx/Vx are the lightest models of the eg civics
They have no side moldings and are very bare with not many extras.

Definitely something I won't buy if planning to mod it.

I have a cx but I got mine "CHEAP" and it already had a d16z6 swap in it.
Things that its not going to have unless already changed over is
no power windows
no sunroof
no power locks
no passenger side air bag
rear Brake drums
small front brakes
The good news is depending on how cheap you can get it and if you can land you some aftermarket parts and swap over then it will be worth it.
You can pretty much put whatever options you want into it from other civics.
If you just want something you can hop in and drive without having to change stuff over I would pass it up

Off topic but if I remember correctly none of the eg's had passenger side airbag until 94-95

I thought the DX was the lowest trim because it has no sunroof, no power nothing or anything everything manual plus no A/C

Don't forget no tilt wheel and no intermediate wipers. Same with the VX. But those things are easily swapped over.
It's the best start if you're building either an economy or track whore.
