i want to get new bulbs for the headlights, but i im not looking for powerful hid head lights just new head lights for the color, i've been looking around for some bulbs that are sort of aqua blueish white, like these the color of http://i44.tinypic.com/11rglys.jpg or the 6000k and 8000k in this pic http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachmen ... 1294956812

anybody know of some replacement bulbs cheap, this color?

Parts stores sale bulbs that give HID look and are super bright, while still being halogen.

I have seen these and ones like it in multple auto part stores. They work pretty good. however they have alot shorter life then normal H4 bulbs.

The most light output you can get will be a 5600k HID. If you do get an HID kit make sure to put in a HID projector and use a clear light lens.

I dont know if I would call this cheap, it will be $50-70 USD depending on location. Thats cheap compared to a proper HID install which would be a few hundred dollars. however its not a $10-15 mod you do on a whim.

chrono is right with the xenon bulbs from autozone and or any auto parts store (i'm sure they sell them). i have them on my car right now but i promise you they won't give you the bluish white bright you're talking about. those xenon's WILL be brighter than your average bulb though

i have in my civic Phillp's (iirc they are the crystal vision) and they are nice and very clear, like standard but a lot clearer and brighter and no blue hue or tint.

yeah i just want to put some bulbs that are whiter lol...

not cause im cheap , but cause i dont really care about it that much and some of the local aftermarket performance stores i shop at had a few deals that made me start wondering about some cheap bulbs, they had like 15-20 buck bulbs that were supposedly the whiter colors.

thanks for the inputs, might just end up saving for hid kit

Stock bulbs are h4. What specs do you want?

Also if you get hids, make sure to get hid projector housings and clear lens for your headlights. Otherwise the light output will be wrong and can give less light and blind other drivers.

uhh.. idk the 1000k 8000k spec stuff... are those usually the specification on how "strong" the lights are what does mean when they write 8000k hid ...

I've seen the Silver Stars at Wally World as well, I think they were even a few bucks cheaper, I've also used them in the past and really liked them, never had any issues with them either.

The number you're taking about 1000k, 5000k, 8000k etc refers tom the bulb temperature(kelvin)/color.

They also make lights that are green and red colored, personally I'd stay away from those, other than looking kind of neat they really don't serve any purpose. Green and red, aren't very good for visibility or clarity for night driving, apart from that the red ones might also get in trouble with the law.
