Guys, am new here

Got a JDM 92 Civic EG VTi Sedan, D15B Vtec. Still stock, except some Ebay fart can.

So am planing to get an Intake, short ram ones would be safer due to the where I live and the cost. We have rain all the time and dusty roads. But haven't decided yet which way to go, CAI or SRI.

I heard that Apexi intakes filters perform well bla bla, so I was looking around for them. There is an intake kit as APexi Power intake kit and also there is the replacement filter + the adapter for $30 lesser than the kit. So I have no idea what to go for. Also heard that even with the kit, we would have to use the stock intake piping on our car.

So...

- Do you guys have know what size adapter and filter I would have to buy, incase am using the stock pipe?

- Should I use the stock piping or should I find another intake pipe?

- Has anyone of you got an Apexi intake? Is it better compared to AEM SRI? Or Injen CAI?

well i would get a whoul intake with the pipe. not just a filter on stock pipe. injen is a good brand. my girl has one on her integra. most short rams are just bout the same. it mostly you preferance on what you want.

hmm. Ya, but heard Apexi filters well, bla bla. I got 2 good deals for CAIs, an Injen and a Fujita, so have to decide which one to go

AEM do some decent priced ones.

Yeah the prices of the AEM filters have came down alot. I have have an AEM cold air intake on my car. The only reason I got it was because it was a good price. You could always get a cheap ebay intake and use a good filter like AEM, Apexi, K&N, Injen, etc...

Yep, I saw some AEM ones too. Anyway i got these good deals for an Injen CAI and a Fujita CAI, for below $140, but both are one piece intakes. Anyway I haven't decided yet

I'd replace the stock pipe for sure. I'm an AEM fan myself and prices have for sure dropped on these over the years. Here's a link you could pick one up for $100

As said, don't use the stock piping, it's gonna restrict your air flow despite your aftermarket filter.

I have an Injen SRI, but AEM, Fujita, they're all comparable. If you can get a good deal on one then go for it, you can always swap filters although they will all perform about the same.

As you said though, a lot of precipitation and rain can be bad for a CAI. I myself live in Ontario and wanted mid-range throttle response and power gains so I opted for the SRI instead of a CAI.

Yep am not gonna use the stock piping. I ordered a cheap cold air intake kit and an AEM filter. I guess this intake kit could be also used as a short ram, it is a two piece kit. So maybe I'll use it as an SRI when it rains. But still I would love to run a CAI all the time, It wouldnt make an issue unless I run the bumper into a water puddle right?? Or would the moisture in air would affecxt the engine or any sensors or electronics??
