my valves are ticking even though i have adj them four times. i have new valves,spirngs,retainers, port and polished head, and comp cam. is there something i need to do or is that what they are supose to do?

Either your timing is off or the lift is too tall and the duration is too long.

Check your timing first.

If everything is brand new you will need frequent adjusting until everything settles in. and secondly be sure to follow procedure carefully it does not take to much of a misdirection to throw everything way out. not saying anything against your workmanship, we all get caught somewheres
