Type-R's are awesome. Over 200hp n/a. :hehe:

Putting a ITR Head onto a stock B20b or z Block wont last long. If you rev it up to red line you will blow the bottom end out. Its not made to rev that high. If you build up the bottom end with arp rod bolts, maybe better rods you would keep the engine together longer. The B20 would have more torque. However you need to get your ECU tuned due to more displacement. If you dont you will end up blowing up your engine.

If you are going to spend that money I would recommend just buying a GSR and putting cams in it, give it a Skunk2 intake manifold(Basically a repllica type-R), 4-1 Headers, Match it to a b16 Tranny and your car will rip. Giving the Type-R Swap a good run for the money.

B20vtecs are nice. I use to want to build one. However after seeing my freinds blow theirs up I wouldn't recommend it. go with a GSR. I might also recommend a LSvtec if you knew how to build one right. We have a DIY here on the site. When you build one its not cheap.

if you're going with a B20 bottom end, you'll need to get/upgrade at least:

*pistons (otherwise, pistons hit the valves)
*rods (won't stand much power)
*rod studs (stock ones not made for high rev)
*specifid arp head studs to fit a Vtec head
*oil line for the vtec

and get the crankshaft balanced.

a complete B18C swap is the easy way, B18C head + B20 bottom end is the most powerful but much more complicated.

Just drop in a k24a2 TSX Engine. Performance Vtec Head, 2.4 liter bottom end. Matched to a Tight Geared 6speed.

I doubt they willl ever remake the eg. I will take a Fit Type-R with a K20a or K20a2 :thumb:
