How did it work out with the dipstick tube, replaced already?

- Wed Feb 20, 2008 9:27 pm #43190 Naw havnt replaced it yet, couldnt get the other one off, so i just put some adhesive all around the dip stick holder that is on my car...cuz i dont think its coming out of the top but yet around it. So hopefully that will stop it from leaking, but i am bringin my b16 block with me to Redzone today see if maybe they can just change them out...depends how much they charge me. Ima be leaving in a hour or so to head out there, hopefully the car gets running right and get some good numbers

- Wed Feb 20, 2008 9:36 pm #43194 I see a lot of people running w/o the upper timing belt cover on their engines. I'd put that on a daily driven car. You'd be surprised how much dirt & tiny pebbles end up down there and there's no way for them to get out. I've heard of the tiny pepples getting between the timing belt & cog gear and shortening the life of the TB.

But yeah my friend had sumthing that fell in his and ate his TB so bad, luckily he caught it because like one more drive and it would have been bye bye to his motor
