I am into the JDM Scene. I love JDM'd Cars, Even then its gettng a little stale. Not a huge fan of the style, However for what it is, Its been tastefully done. Look forward to seeing what comes out of it next.

I also like the 2 tone paint you did with the black on bottom and red roof. Haven't scene that on an EG before.

thanks for all the kind words, but im afraid im going to disappoint you here. it will be 2 tone one day but what you saw was a solution from necessity... i knew when i was spraying the primer, that i didn’t have enough to do the roof, so i just did the quick brake...
This weekend was all about getting it one color..... here is the blow by blow.
here is how she sat after firday, all the trim peeled, messed up windshield and all

I totally f-ed up the paint job on saturday, runs and fish eyes like crazy... ah well, what did i really expect for $30 worth of enamel paint and thinner (god i hate single stage enamel and bad lighting!)...

today (sunday) i sanded down the worst areas, re-shot them, disassembled the headlights, cleaned them, painted the 'eye' rings flat black, reassembled the headlights, than put the car back together.
paint job is still only a 6 out of 10 but put back together it looks good
here are the pics.... and im sad to say this will be the last update for a while. now that im good and sick of looking at this thing, ive gotta turn some attention to getting my house in order again.

- Mon Jun 08, 2009 1:20 am #121274 The Primer job came out pretty good, Black + CF Hood looks hot. Looks like you should spray your jams. If those where black and no red showed up it would be hella sick.

In Black the DC-EG Integra/Civic Hatch doesn't look to bad. Looks clean for what it is.

Luckey for me the semi gloss i used on the exterrior is almost identical to duplacolor semi gloss spray can...
I think two cans aught to do the job. I just hate sanding down door jambs!
the red showing thru is not that noticable in real life, just that picture of the rear hatch is at the right angle to catch it...
the only place you notice it (with all the doors closed) is the intirror window frame...
maybe next weekend i can get some time away from the housework to fix it

i didnt think i would have updates so soon but here you go
my friend chad went off on the car, i digg the results! i cant wait to see what he has planned for the sides, hood, front and possibly roof!
hood is going to look super sick (carbonfiber with pin-stripes on top)

yeah, the all back was getting on my nerves and my friend has mad skills but never gets any thing big to work on (usually just road signs and beer fridges) so i figgured id throw him some pratice and really make the car look like a rat rod!
it kinda worked, about 3 minutes in he said "ive never worked vertical, this is like a whole new ball game"
that and, i kinda hate to say it but i love this car because it pisses almost every one off.
the rat rod guys hate it becasue its an import, and the import people hate it because its kinda just pieced together.
the muscle car guys hate it, well, because muscle car guys hate every thing, even other muscle cars!!
and the fake hot-rodders hate it because its an import, and its not glossy.

i love that it just speaks to the true hot-rodders. the ones that know the roots of all car customization comes from being board with stock, wanting to make it faster, nicer, better, and working with what you have...

hey thank you!
well the work keeps rolling on... i swear im going to slow down soon!
my friend jason came over and kicked my ass, got me motivated on the engine...

went smooth other than the underdrive pully nut... bent one 13 mm wrench into a u shape, and snapped this 14mm clean in half...



didnt even want to screw with it.... so seeing how im not going to use the crank and not using the pully, i took a few cut-off wheels, a sawzall and a grinding stone and cut it all away.



oddly enough once the head was cut away the remaining stud was finger tight and could be turned out with a pair of pliers....



we we got it fuly stripped...

no wonder my friend had a rod knock on this engine ,

3 spun rod bearings, and the 4th one was split in half!



The main bearings looked just fine. the crank actually didnt hold up too badly. the rod jurnals could prolly use some polishing, but no deep gouging.



cylinders look brand new (minus hone marks)


no noticable crown ridge, little bit of burnt oil settled at the bottom, but other than that they look good. only the dial bore indicator will be the final word on that.









looks like we got a keeper

turns out judges like my car just as much as i do!

i took first in the import mild class at the custom rides for saving lives show today!

and befor you ask, yes there were more people in that class than just me (6 others i think).

i also picked up a 4 channel remote system, and two door sylinoids in the scilent auction....

so it looks like ill be doing the shaved door handels soon!!
