The dyno Tune day is almost here... Week needs to hurry up a bit. 8)

But I had to replace the Left Axel, as I mentioned eariler. but now I have a clunking sound comeing from the left side, you can hear it pretty loud.

It happens only when driving, and you go to shift, Pushing clutch in, and giving it gas to swich gears, accelerate... sometimes happenes when just driving around and not hitting clutch... its kinda by the driver side wheel.. havent had a chance to lift the car and see what it is... Ill lift the car Friday afterwork, gotta do a oil change. so thats when I will see whats all goin on there. Ill do a oil change before the tune, and a oil change 50mils after the tune,a then another one when I get to 500 Miles.

#310741 Well Upon further examination. I have found that the Clunking noise was my left side motor mount bolt was a tad bit loose... So I have tightined that. :woot:

Redid the Vacume lines for the Bov. I either need bigger fitting or smaller lines :x

Today I am gonna change the oil and coolant.

and do a compression test on the car to see how everything is.

Then the Dyno on Saturday. I need to call and confirm my Appointment.
and while there there gonna hook up my Vtec, maybe throw on a MBC set it at 20-25 psi and then see what this beast will do :shock:

the first week i had my coupe i had the same problem on a 80 mile trip only it was the rear mount on my car. the bolt ended up falling out at 50mph about 30 miles from home. very lucky to have a good buddy 2 miles down the road with a bucket up spare honda bolts :thumb:

#310797 Did a Oil Change. and it was clean :) No metal shavings or anything in the oil!!! yay!

But I do smell Cooltant while driving? Dont know why? No Coolant in Oil. No oil In coolant. anyone have a idea?

Compression came back eh... it was climbing hit over 120 each time.... but then as soon as you stopped cranking, it dropped to zero? idk what was wrong with it...

So change the compression gauge set. and then it was all jacked up and wouldnt even read.... I dont know... car runs great. idels solid. has a coolant smell to it.. but no coolant loss?

Its running super lean till the tune. its ideling at 17.9. and driving around at normal throttel its around 15.5-16.5 so its lean... but I am not getting on it, just breaking it in nice and slow.

if you do give it just a bit of gas it shoots up to 10.0afrs

Now the other thing I noticed is the head is LOUD! But I do have dual springs supertech springs. so I understand that.

Also when I opend the Oil cap... there was alot of air coming out it... any idea?
Car is on time. not off at all. just seemed like alot of pressure up in the valve cover... I also have the Block vented goin into a Vent Catch can.

#310856 there shouldnt be a coolant smell at all... maybe a hose has a small leak? maybe the thermostat housing or something along those lines.

if the smell is only inside the car its probably the heater core or maybe the hoses

Its only inside the car :?
Ill have to double check all the hoses. But I dont know its weird.
Car runs great, I have about 100 miles on the build and it runs fantastic. I have hit about 2-4 psi just goin around post. and it pulls. Nice. Not trying to hit 12 untill tune.
the Afrs are really lean cruising. likle 17-19 and unregistered.
and then once it starts to spool it hits 10afrs. and 11. so it hits both super lean and super rich. lol.

#311032 Well guys. It was a bittersweet day yesterday, DBrooks Knows why. :cry:

So at the dyno. I ended up maxing my 440 injectors out at 6500RPMS.
Vtec Wouldnt kick in at the set timing. Ended up being a low oil pressure issue.
Then about 2hrs into the session. we turned the car off. turned back on and some sort of knocking happened... not sure what it was :/ and then decided to call it quits!
The car ended up dynoing 305whp233tq at 10psi. maxed fuel. and still had a shit done of timing and everything else that needed to be done. :thumbdown:

After we called it quites. a knocking happened again. The guy tuning said it could be a Main/Rod bearing goin out. So I could not risk this happening to me.

Drove the car around for a few hrs. did 4pulls total.

1st pull. a 3rd gear pull. felt okay, but you could feel the power kinda jumpy.
2nd pull. was a 1st gear pull where all you heard was knocking.
3rd was a 3rd gear on to highway and car felt super slow.
4th was a 4th gear pull on highway and it just didnt feel right.

So I decided to go look at a few cars.
and well....... I traded in the Civic for a 03 Audi Allroad AWD TwinTurbo
in Olive Drab color.

and I couldnt be happier!

Sad that its gone, and I couldnt risk having it blow up on me. so the dealship took it off my hands.... gave me a good price for it...well beyond what I was asking. and left with a Awesome new platfor to maybe modify down the road. who knows.
Ill keep trolling around. and if people need help. Ill lend a ear and advice.

Ill have a few parts for sale. Ill make a thread for it.
Maybe make a thread for the Audi, just so you guys can see the beast :shock:

But it was a fanancilly stabile move I had to do.

You guys have been great! wish the civic didnt have the issues it might have had. and Hopefully the next owner treats her good!
