#57183 The problems continue!

The battery is very in very bad condition, need to replace it as soon as possible. Also i seem to miss some grounding, becose everything seems to be grounded in the valve cover cable.

And now to the real problems. Since Sweden these last days have been really hot, old cars can have some problems.
Yesterday i was in Gävle and picked up my car from the shop and drove it home. Everything was just fine. But today i was cruising the town as usual when im off work, i went in to idle for a while and noticed how the water temperature went up. Bad shit! The water temp went up and down in an irregular pattern. What to do? I took a look under some caps and this is the result...

Water temperature gauge. This is how warm it got.

Cookie dough! Yeah, for the win.

This is the ooze from the radiator.

But now everything seems to work. The fan won't start though so that´s need som attention tomorrow.

#57688 My temperature issues was solved with a ground cable. Now the fan gets enough juice to turn around :thumb:

Also i did wheel alignment and the autoshop got my requested setting a bit backward with +2,00mm toe in the rear instead of -1,5mm. So that sucks. He made some remarks about my front lower control arm bushings and since he mentioned it i have started to notice it myself that they are pretty worn out. So the ES Master Bushing kit in black have been ordered:

And... Finaly from Tokyo Express (whom does not ship very fast...), my Spoon N1 axleback. Noticeable acceleration gains and of course more resonable exhaust sound instead of having just oxygen as axleback

The cops pulled me over after hitting 150km/h at a 50km/h speedlimit just after i installed the exhaust, but thats another story :P

#57736 Spoon is so darn nice! Wanted the Mugen Twinloop but ~800$ + shipping is to expensive :/

Some pictures from today :)

It looks to be a bit high in the rear, but its just perfect in real life :)

Anyone knows what b-pipe/mid pipe i can use instead of the OEM dito? I want it to fit my Spoon N1 axleback but Spoon´s b-pipe is so not worth the money :P

How long is not "very fast", as I have been phoning up spoon europe the last couple of days but nobody seems to be answering so tokyo express was going to be my next port of call to order one. Unless anyone else knows a decent place in the UK I could order one. :thumb:

Also nice car you got there. :thumb:

"We do not have it in stock although the shipment from Japan has reached UK shores and is about to be de vanned from the ship.

If you would like to secure one of the few left from this shipment I can do that for you, let us know."

I payed in advance to get it fast since it almost was in stock. Or is it very far from UK shores to Tokyo Express? :P

The muffler will be with us in the next week, we will then ship it out same day to you."

"The Spoon N1 exhaust was shipped to you on Friday. Thank you again for your order."

#57822 Have the overheating issued been resolved with the new fan ground?

The gunk in your radiator is often signs of a leaking headgasket around the combustion chamber.

#57984 A new ground cable between gearbox and the cars body solved everything :)

The gunk is probably old stuff. No other signs of bad gasket.
This car have had one D16 and one B18 engine before. Who knows why the swaps been done :( Lots of "immigrant" owners before me that you don´t want to speak with :P

#59093 Yesterday i made my first trackday with the car and it felt very good even though there is a lot of things left to do on it. The bushings are crap and it rolls like a whale in the corners. I hope that ITR rear swaybar, racingtyres and ES bushings in the LCA´s will solve it.
I fiddled with the dampers stiffness after each run and i think i found a pretty nice setup, but it is hard to know since i dont time every lap. To take care of that issue i will buy a "PerformanceBox" with GPS laptimer and logging of the way i drive.
