Metal heats up right? So what you've done is proberly worse. Also you're blocking most of the filter?

Actually you can purchase items like this for alot of cars, they help block heat from the engine bay and keep the air cooler, but the aftermarket ones usually have some sort of thermal protection on them, which i would recommend getting as well for this one, and it would function alot more efficient
Remember when Civics were cool ? Yea me neither

Fair enough, I still think it'll be more effeciant if you used a cold air feed.

so here is the update
as i had mentioned i had burnt my arm by working on my engine bay and my watch caught the live and got super heated and fried my arm.
But any how here my update.
Had all the belts replaced, new disc had them slotted, new brake shoes, had a vernier gear installed, tappets set and new suspension parts ball joints, rack ends etc.
Well as you might or might not know we don't really get these cars except for the sedan version so i ran into some trouble. First i couldn't get the correct drums, then after that the pads were wrong for the front, after that the radiator's top tank broke and i couldn't get a radiator cos it was a Sunday.so i spoke to a contact he he got me one.sorry for the poor quality pics but enjoy.
These are the parts i bought
the new disc
the cam gear
the radiator
so before
during
after
Gear before
after
Radiator
before
after
and painted the rear drums
the end result
much to my disappointment the water pump packed up later that evening but a new one is being installed.
plans still include a engine bay repaint and the repair of the accident
also my new laptop is coming to control the chip and sound so will keep you posted as not like before comments are welcome good or bad

Why on earth did you paint your rear drums red?
I'm sorry, but it looks ridiculous. Either get rid of them and get discs on there or paint them black. The last thing you want to do is draw attention to the fail that is your rear braking system.
