By red92hatchback
#128720 Ok i love my hatch to death but it looks like hell on the outside. the quaters are rusted, there is a huge dent in the triangle part between the back glass and the hatch glass, needs painted badly. The drivers door wont open from the outside and now to top it all off the drivers door glass got busted yesterday. So here it is i am going to be posting everything i do to it till it look as good as new. Now relize i am a broke white boy so it may take a while, but hey here we go... og yea i think i am going to primer it for now so i i aint worried about messing the paint haha..

#128779 ive seen this hatch on craigslist i live in westerville glad to see your fixing it up another one saved! however the headlights are a good suggestion ive got the amber corners and they look pretty nice mabey get some jdm style rims if your re-painting it red then get some nice black and chrome ones they'll look good as for the rust spots how deep is it? if its just slight surface rust id suggest grinding it down and bondo for now but if you want a real fix id just put new panels in but i like it and good luck :thumb:

this is the stuff that pisses me off dont just do a quick fix do it right the first time...i do body work and there is no sense in working on it now and then agian six months from now.....all of your problems cant be solved by slapping filler on it....do all the metal work first then apply a thin layer of filler no more than 1/8'' thick or the thickness of a dime and more than that it will start cracking and chipping..... :thumb: good luck with the car man and im not directing that at ''nasyb16a''

hey i feel ya man. i know what ya mean. but just cause you lead a horse to water dont mean its gonna drink it.lol ppl have to figure out the hard way sometime. if they feel like adding 10 pounds of filler let em. that way in a year or so it begins to crack and fall off. lol. i think the tirm body filler is a bad way to say it. make ppl thing o i fill in the big dent with this and sand it flat. i like bondo. but when your working for a shop its hard to show ppl what you mean cause they arnt awear of all the proper ways of doing it. we know the right way cause we deal with it every day. you know what i mean?

#128928 sorry if my comment sounded hack and shitty what i meant by the bondo was temporary until he can get enough for a replacement panel (s) wasnt trying to sound like a lazy moron haha

#128953 yeah man i feel you but i guess one of the reasons it bothers me is because i have to fix peoples shitty body work all the time.... if it is done right no one will know you did anything at all :thumb:
