- Thu Sep 09, 2010 6:35 pm #212925 Nice choice for your first car The first things I would do is get a gauge cluster with a tachometer, clean the engine bay, take the chicken wire out of the bumper, and diy amber corners. Other than that it looks great especially with those gun metal wheels.

also how would i DIY the amber corners? i was thinking about buying new jdm amber corners but if i can do it myself, why not?! haha
ive already cleaned the engine bay up and i want to get a new cluster, problem is finding a nice one for a good price ;)

- Thu Sep 09, 2010 7:12 pm #212935 Some OEM fogs would be nice to fill in the gaps, and a local junk yard would be a good place for a cheap cluster. Theres a whole list of DIY's here including the amber corners which are very easy http://civic-eg.com/viewtopic.php?t=1474

theres alot of things you can do to that car and definately alot you can learn from this site....

now from my experience with the cx its a great light weight car......problems ive found with it

-brakes are tiny tiny little iddy bitty-things lol get an upgrade there....
-parts body wise a little harder to find as the cx/vx are the only cars without side mouldings so youd either have to weld up holes or something....

besides that there really isnt much else wrong

I see from the pics that your header is different from what ive been accustumed to seeing on the oem cx and vx cars so im guessing here but could you have a d15b7 under teh hood instead of the 8valve cx motor

- Mon Sep 27, 2010 2:25 am #215526 in second the motion to lose the mesh grill, also swap the rear to disc, and go for a integra master and brake booster as well. is that a cat back exhaust or just an axle back. integra seats would be sweet as well. and welcome to the site.

- Tue Oct 12, 2010 8:56 pm #218094 been a month or two. car is still not on the road ... but head gasket is changed. valve cover is sanded , needs wet sand and a paint job still. also took out the wire mesh grill... unfortunately the previous owner cut our the stock slit grills so its just open gaps.. looking for some smoked fogs and a black center piece grill. also plan on getting amber corners. id like to paint the front lip black again (was painted red to match car but looks horrible) paint the sides black again and also get a rear lip and paint black. also some mud flaps my uncle asked me if i was trying to turn it into a rally car which seems kinda funny, but im not -_- i am also still looking for an si/sir gauge cluster for a good price. getting some good ATE Super Blue racing dot 4 fluid and hawk hps pads. getting closer

i have a CX as well.
i have had mine for about 3 weeks. the absolute first thing i did to the car was swap out the rear drum brakes for integra disc brakes. but 4 days into owning the car, the head gasket blew. so i had fix that lol.

your car is really clean. and the rims look good.
you might have been able to get away with just painting the mesh grill black so that its not so noticeable if you dont like the open front without it. painting the lip and skirts are easy, check out the DIYs on this site. and get yourself some Civic-EG.com stickers
