My rear hatch is DEMOLISHED. I picked up a carbon fiber one. Never rust again.

- Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:34 am #77428 heres a couple of before pictures this week i am pulling my motor doing a new clutch and flywheel and putting my turbo kit on, and doing my rear quarter cut out panels they should be in by friday i ordered them from rustrepair.com im pretty good with a welder but we'll see how things go the diy write up is really descriptive it should be too hard i will make sure i take pictures as i go along.

- Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:38 am #77430 when you want to answer someones question how do you post what they previously said? but anyways to all the rust comments i know i hate it but i will be taking care of it shortly i actually got the car in a trade when i sold my harley the guy was short like a grand so he traded the EG to me. i have owned EKs my whole life and this Eg is my favorite car

- Fri Nov 14, 2008 6:30 am #78590 Just to update everyone alot of things have happened with my car since i got the turbo kit on i will post up a bunch of pictures tomorow i dont feel like doing it right now. so i got the turbo kit on and everything went smooth but i have a whole bunch of smoke coming from the exhaust and i thought it was a bad seal in the turbo so i swapped out the turbo and it still did it i later found out i had bad piston rings in cylinders 2 and 4 so i took the turbo kit off and and unbolted and tore apart all the plumbing and wiring to pull the motor. i am going to be pulling the motor from bottom. im useing the diy brian wrote up which is helping alot. i have all the pictures through the process of putting the turbo kit on and taking it off and pulling the motor.

My next dilemma that i have i need help from you guys besides a d16z6 what other motor will bolt right up and plug and play i want to make this motor swap as simple as possible, and if the d16z6 is the only one that will do that where can i get a d16z6 long block that i know is gonna be reliable at a good price.

on the other hand do you think it is worth it to rebuild this motor or do you think its not worth it at all. i know this is alot of writing id like to pre thank you for your post answers.
