Hey guys/gals!!! I've been posting here for some time and for some reason I haven't put pics of my hatch.
Long story short...
4 years ago I got my hatch from a woman who didn't know that she had a car on her backyard. Her son bought it and two weeks later it was stolen. After a couple of days later it was found on a mall parking lot and he park it on his mom's backyard. He moved to Florida and left it there to rot. Some 5 years later her sister moved next street to her mom's and they decided to make an entrance in the backyard and that's when they found it.
It was covered in grass and crap, the contractor that was making the gate suggested to move the car out so they didn't have to do the gate twice, and the woman's neighbor is my friend. as soon as he saw the hatch he called me and the next day I went to see it. The lady told me that she didn't want to sell it because it was her son's but I gave her $1000 bucks for it and call it a day. Put an old battery and started right up, even tho it was knocking as a bitch I was happy.
I had more pics but for the life of me I can't find the damn xD-Picture Card.
The Pics:
Before going in to the shop
And the strip begins
As soon as the parts came off, I found out that the front was all bent from a crash
.
Bye bye rust!!!
I don't know if you can see in the pic but where the door goes is bent
dirty engine bay
random pic of the tool we use to remove the windshield
By removing the glass and glue I shaved 200 lbs. from the hatch
Donor door, some body work and rust patches
This is my daily driver so down time is killer for me, so I just took a couple of days off to do some work on it. Hope I can finish soon
More to come...
