#272481 so was wondering what vtec head would be best for my LS block...if it even makes any dif...and where/how I should get one?...any inputs anyone ?

#272506 There will be different views on this. IMO the B18c GSR Head is the better of the two VTEC Heads. Why? It has Quelch pads that deter detonation. It also has better flow in the Mid Range RPM's which for Most driving is more important then High RPMS. Detonation is the enemy of all engines, Especially boosted one's. Therefore I say the B18c GSR head would be the better one to go for.

I have been looking at a B20vtec path for my Delsol. If I go that route a B18c GSR head is what I will be using.

#272522 Id say on a allmotor set up b20vtex typer lsvtec id use ab16 or typer head there the same besides a few things but for boost gsr is the best set up to go with

#272523 Plus if you plan on reving it up id do an upgraded valve train like supertech or skunk or ferra i went with a full super tech and im happy with it

#272529 Dude if you want to yield more compression then GSR is the way to go.

#274500 ok so i finally figured out what my build is going to be :thumb: ...and i know i change my mind like a baby needs its diaper changed..but im set on this one...its plain..simple and for the most part cheap..considering i already have the motor for free...im going to do a turbo ls (not lsv) with some internal upgrades..and MAYBE..(prolly not though)boring it out a little..but i figure i will do forged pistons and rods, upgrade the valves and springs, cams, and i think thats about it...so if ANYONE has inputs on what brands are good or what size bore to do(if any) and add some upgrades i didnt mention that i might need...it would be greatly appreciated :thumb:

#274502 Juice pulls 12 Second 1/4 Miles on a BONE STOCK LS engine with a 16G Turbo. Pretty sure hes around the 300hp mark and can go farther if he wants to. Check out his thread and watch him just Destroy people on the 1320.

If your looking for cheap power get Delta Cams Its like under $120 for 2 Stage 1 Cams. Just look up what specs you want your cams to be and Delta can make them for you. They are tried and true for the American muscle cars and I know a handful of local hondas running Delta cams that are stupid fast and reliable.

That said an N/A Stage 1 or Stage 2 Cam(+ Supporting mods) will not have more power then a LS/Vtec as VTEC was made to continue the torque curve.

If you want the engine to last more then a week. Make sure you get it PROFESSIONALLY TUNED. Why was that all in caps and bolded? Because its very important and I wanted to make sure you remember it. Dont get a Base map. No matter what anyone tells you no, its not safe for a Boosted motor to run on just a "Base Map" Base maps are meant to be a Base for getting a tune on. If your tuner says otherwise leave and go to another tuner before wasting your money.

Also, another big thing you should do before buying any parts. Look into TealDx's and Juices build thread and see what it takes to actually build a Turbo Honda. Make sure its a road you want to do before actually going down it.

Probally a Moot point, however best for future members who use the search feature. Best block to boost IMO on would be the F22b. Best flowing head honda has, Yes even better then any K Series. It has iron sleeves, have low comp for high boost, They are stupid cheap. All trannys have tall gears to boost on. Perfect for a High Boost turbo Setup. also Non-vtec cams are really really cheap from Delta. Biggest downside is tranny strength, needing h Series mounts and ruins weight distrubtion. Perfect for the 1320 though.

if there are no visible markings, you'll have to have the cams specs. im fairly certain a machine shop can do this.

as for the ecu, p75 can be converted to control VTEC. otherwise, you can try to find a virgin p28 and use that.

#275286 You can chip/tune a p75, p72 or a p28. If you do the p72 or the p28 you have the ability to easily add vtec in the future. Or if you want 2 maps on the ls engine, say Low boost or high boost then you can have use a toggle switch to choose bewteen the maps on the vtec ecu's.

A good idea would be high boost/e85 tune and a lower boost/91-93 octane map. You will want a boost controller with a setup like this.

I plan on a Setup like the above on a spare p28 I have, I plan on an e85 map(with more spark advance) and a Pump gas map, Just flip the switch to change to tell the ecu which map to choose.

#275364 On the side of the Ecu is a sticker that looks like this

This ECU is a p04 ECU.
