need help guy planning to turbo my dz16 lump

- Wed Nov 03, 2010 7:58 pm #221411 i have forged pistons here all ready getting ready to order my conrods nxt but not sure wot head gasket to use as im planning to run it in un boosted then fit the turbo kit after wot head gakset should i use and can anyone point me in the direction of some good tunning programs for it ive been looking at the kits to solder bits into the stndard ecu so it tunable cause hondata ecus seem a bit steep in price

- Wed Nov 03, 2010 9:14 pm #221424 OEM head gasket will work fine. Just get a set of ARP headstuds and you will be golden. As far as tuning you can socket the ECU and run crome ... it's free.

- Wed Nov 03, 2010 10:38 pm #221442 Crome you can download IIRC. And I'm not sure about the socketing kit, try Xenocron.com ... electronics intimidate me so I had someone else do all that for me. I'm running Hondata ATM but will be running Neptune soon.

Why the crossover to NEPTUNE from HONDATA???

- Fri Nov 05, 2010 12:39 pm #221705 Mostly so my tuner can get a baseline for a turbo single cam on Neptune (he's just started using it). I'm getting the new tune for free, as well as the neptune ... oh yeah and retuning at 10 psi.

The basic neptune also has the provision for editing cold start conditions, which the hondata s100 (what I've got now) doesn't. Also I plan to run a tuner view at some point in the near future and I don't think that works with hondata, but it does with neptune.
