#239324 it is coming along nicely. So far its cost me a lot more than i had thought initially. But its worth it. The value is probably triple what i initially paid for it now and im not sure i even have 1k in it yet. But thats not counting the loss im taking on my other car. Not selling the engine etc.

#239898 Car is finally home.

Little dirty and still needs some work. But atleast im driving my own car again. As soon as its warm enough the hood is getting painted as well as other spots. Interior is pretty clean, pas side door handle is broken, still works, and the vinyl is messed up on either panel which you can see in the pics.

My sweet shifter, couldnt use a decent welder so its done using a little 80, which was impossible to get decent beads with. Drilled and pinned it too just to make sure, has inner and outer diameter sleeves.

This thing is going to be looking NICE when i get it finished.

#240175 I'm glad to see this running. Its always a good day to see a Delsol built up. Looks like its a Delsol S Model, The Lightest of the Sol's. Thats pretty cool. I bet your having a blast in it.

Any good audio goodies come with it? Looks like it has aftermarket tweeters in the Doors.

Did you need to get a Delsol D Series rear T Bracket? or did your mod your EG one to fit?

It came with a braket for it, there were several odd things in the trunk of the car. Including an extra steering shaft with ignition and steering wheel. It also has mudflaps hanging out in there that i have yet to put on 8)

As far as the audio it had stock speakers but had a very poorly wired in 12 disk changer in the trunk. I Rewired it and relocated it to the cubby behind the pass seat.

The car is really fun to drive, at the moment though the muffler is still not welded on and with that header it is very loud. So i have to be careful about where i get on it. It seems MUCH faster than the sedan. Hard to imagine that ac/power steering/ header would make all the difference. But now on dry pavement it spins the tires where before i would get a chirp. I dont see how you 200+ hp people drive the thing. But ill find out soon enough.

Im loving the look and feel of the car. I cannot believe people disklike these cars.

I also love my Delsol, It feels like one of those cars I will be keeping forever. The Delsols are not a practical car, If its the Only car you have you will quickly grow to hate it. I had 2 friends of mine who got delsols after seeing mine, 4 months later then no longer had delsols as its not a practical car.

If you are enjoying the Delsol with the Roof On, wait until Summer and you take the roof off, put it in the trunk and lower down your rear window. I do it pretty much every sunny day even though its cold.

Every Delsol weighs over 2400 Lbs. They are not Light. The EX Sedan weights in at 2490lbs, so the delsol is right about the same weight.

Congrats!!! My Faverate feature of the Delsol is being able to take off the roof and put it in the trunk!

I am happy for you getting your first taste of Delsol Life. :thumb: :thumb:

#241824 Del Sols handle so well because of their rigid chassis and low center of gravity.
To make up for the Targa top, Honda strengthened them by using a very large tunnel down the middle of the uniibody. They tucked the shift linkage and exhaust in that tunnel. The extra weight of the large tunnel gives the Del Sol a nice low center of gravity which is always nice in a road car.
A nice feature is the targa tops built in roll bar over the back power window. This adds more weight, but greatly increases safety.

#241969 Chrono-i was smiling pretty much constantly while driving with the top off. Once it got too cold it took me all of 30 seconds to be covered again.

pandapoo4u wrote:i stand corrected on the weight issue

its the way its built that makes it feel faster... i get it now

They are so small.. It seems imposible that they are as heavy as they are. You can feel it while you are driving. The susp probably helps a lot too. it cuts into corners so nicely. It seems like it takes an amazing amout of abuse before it starts breaking loose. And the thing doesnt even have a rear swaybar. (updating in two weeks 8) ).

Well that just gives you time to save money to spend on it. Thanks for the compliment man. Im broke at the moment, i spent all my car money (was going to be for a turbo on the sedan) on buying the sol and getting it home. So have about two more weeks before ill have some more spending money. Plans are simple (as i plan to propose to my gf of three years as well, which means buying a ring :x ). LCA's and a rear swaybar, as well as paint and a little body work in some form or another.

That's for sure. The only money I will be spending while Im away is for a new computer. Probably another Macbook! :thumb:

That's a nice, simple list for things to do. If I were you, I'd take advantage of the paint and bodywork situation by doing it yourself. Im sure you have a friend or family member that knows all about it. Then, you could save money for goodies for your car and an engagement ring! :D

Sidenote: I thought about proposing to an girlfriend once.....a month later she stabbed me!
